Dear Friend ,
Welcome to my December issue!
I have two holiday gifts for you. The first
involves the completion of this past year and
consciously planning the new year. The second is a
gift of a free one-hour coaching session. (See the
Special Offer section at the end.)
Also in this issue, I've listed many inspiring
websites that I've come across this past month.
Each one is designed to give you a thrill, a vision,
or an experience of joy.
The year 2006 has been an intense year for almost
everyone I know. Each year around the Winter
Solstice, I take time to review the past year and
think about what I want
to create in the coming year. This exercise
provides me with perspective, allows me to digest
the changes that have occurred, and puts me in the
best position to create what I want in the future.
The Exercise of the Month
is a guide for this self-reflective process. If
you want to go even deeper with this process, I will
send you a 16-page mini-workbook that takes you
detailed step-by-step review of 2006, and a powerful
planning process for a fantastic 2007. Simply email
me (put "2007" in the subject line) and I'll send it
These gifts are my way of saying "Thank You!" for
being part of the Everyday Awakening community -- now numbering more than 2,000 friends.
And please forward this newsletter to your friends
if it would benefit them.
I wish you a warm and joyful holiday season. May
you create more of what you want. May you become a more
conscious creator. And may your creations be
aligned with the greater good for the world.

The Miracle of Coaching
Changing Your Life One Step at a Time
I want to report a miracle in my life.
A true miracle! This miracle was accomplished with
the help of a coach. For decades, I could not get
myself to exercise regularly, and I watched my weight
climb a few pounds every year. It finally hit the
big 200. Ouch! I was desperate. I had to do
So I hired a coach -- Geralyn Gendreau, the
21-day Lifestyle Turnaround Coach. I got
miraculous results, and I'm thrilled.
Everyone needs a coach from time to time -- even
I pride myself on being able to help others
transform their lives and create their dreams. I'm a
damn good coach. But I can't seem to coach myself --
no matter how hard I try.
The results: I've lost 17 pounds and my "spare
tire," increased my muscle mass, improved my health,
and my body looks better than it has looked in 20
years. I am actually
enjoying exercise -- which is a second miracle!
Geralynís extraordinary positive attitude, her
encouragement, insight, information, and (when
necessary) her commands, brought about the changes I
had been searching for. The most unexpected boon is
that my desires have changed. I now want to
work out and eat healthy foods. I have effortlessly
given up the high-calorie foods that I believed I
"needed" to feel good. Geralyn integrates yoga,
depth psychology, integral spirituality, and a
practical, disciplined approach. This process
freed up a tremendous amount of vital energy that I
now have for my life.
Having a coach in your corner is truly life
changing. If you're looking to transform your health
and lifestyle, contact Geralyn at (707)478-6358.
(She is also a fantastic writing coach and muse, so
if you're writing a book, or want to write one, call
If you want to experience success in other aspects
of your life,

your dreams come true, hire me as your coach. Call

Excitement, Fun, and Inspiration
Websites to Explore
Here are some powerful websites I have visited and
been inspired by. I hope you enjoy them as much as
The End of Suffering
Spend five minutes in peaceful contemplation with
this guided meditation featuring Buddhist monk Thich
Nhat Hanh. The music is composed and performed by my
friend Gary Malkin, from his fantastic DVD "Graceful
Passages: A Companion for Living and Dying." I
highly recommend this DVD as a gift for anyone
suffering from an illness or who is nearing the
passage of death (which means all of us, actually).
End of Suffering
If you are as concerned about global warming as I
am, you know how easy it is to get overwhelmed by
the facts and figures involved. Here is a creative
and humorous commentary on this serious problem from
Blue Man Group, an entertaining troupe of
who put on a fantastic show. If you get a chance to
see their performance, do so! (I was once on stage
with them, having been chosen from the audience as a
Don't Mime Me
Back in college, I studied mime with Samuel Avital,
a famous teacher of the silent art. This video is
one of the best mime performances Iíve ever seen, by
French mime Jerome Murat. Watch the entire piece to
see an awesome surprise ending. The introduction is
in French, but
the performance is in the Universal Language.
Pandora.com: Music Your Way
Pandora is a music listening and discovery service.
It enables you to easily create streaming "stations"
that explore your favorite parts of the music
universe. For example, you can create a "station"
by identifying an artist, song, or type of music
(e.g., Joni Mitchell or "Clouds" or Folk). Pandora
then plays a variety of music that has
characteristics similar to your choice. The system
learns from your feedback, and you can create as
many stations as you wish. It's an amazing free
service. Check it out.
Brrrr... The Harbin Ice Festival
There is a place in Northern China that stays frozen
almost all year long, so it is not surprising that
they have gotten very creative with ice. Not just
ice sculptures, but entire buildings made of ice,
gigantic animals and gods, and model cities and
architectural wonders. Imagine the Great Wall of
China made of ice. Or just visit this site for some

Book of Now
Iasos, a talented musician, brought together a
collection of more than 20 visionary artists in this
showcase, of beauty and inspiration. It includes
well-known artists such as Alex Grey, Geoffrey
Chandler, and Gilbert Williams, and many others not
as well known. This is art that stretches the
imagination and expands possibilities.
I hope you enjoy these sites!

Film and Video Recommendations
Adventure, Love, the Mystery, and a Secret
Donít miss The Fountain starring Hugh Jackman
and Rachel Weisz. It is a fantastic dream-like love
story that takes place across three time periods -
1500 AD, where Jackman portrays a Spanish
Conquistador serving his Queen and seeking the mythic
Founain of Everlasting Youth; the modern era (2000
AD), where Jackman plays a scientist attempting to
find a cure
for his wife's cancer; and in 2500 AD where Jackman
is an astronaut seeking the answers to the mysteries
of life. It is hauntingly beautiful, shocking and
powerful. It will rock your world.

THE SECRET IS OUT -- AND EVERYONE IS TALKING
The Secret is a documentary film about
manifestation -- how we create our reality
through our beliefs and thoughts. It is a
ground-breaking feature length movie in which
top speakers, writers and philosophers of our time
are interviewed about the world's greatest secret:
what it takes to become successful.
Presenters include Bob Proctor, Neale Donald Walsh,
Joe Vitale, John Gray, Mike Dooley, and many others.
They offer simple truths and much inspiration. It
is entertaining and educational, and it is
making a potentialy dull subject very exciting.
The Secret is about the power of thought, the law of
attraction, visualization and your inalienable,
supernatural right to have, do and be whatever your
heart dreams of. What are YOUR life dreams?

Exercise of the Month
A Review of 2006 -- and a Plan for 2007
The Exercise of the Month requires at
least two hours of your time, but it will be
spent. Find a quiet space where you can write
without being disturbed. If you keep a journal,
have this past year's journals nearby where you can
refer to them.
If you are intrigued by this process and want to
engage in a more rigorous and in-depth process,
email me (put "2007" in the subject) and I will send
you a sixteen-page annual review and plan
for 2007. It is my gift to you so you can create an
awesome year ahead.
(Special thanks to Cynthia Stringer, a terrific
success coach who sent me her version of this
process many years ago.)
Contemplate your accomplishments during this past
year, and write down a list of the following:
Next, acknowledge the gifts you have received by
making two lists based on this past year:
- Goals attained
- New friends made
- Knowledge gained
- Lessons learned
- Skills gained
- Burdens shed
- Relationships nurtured
- Other successes
- Things I am grateful for
- People who made a difference in my life
It is also important to acknowledge whatever might
be incomplete or uncomfortable from the past, and
to decide what you intend to do about each one. Every
"incomplete cycle" in our life uses a small amount
of attention energy to keep it in its unfinished
state. When you complete a cycle, you free that
attention energy, which you can then apply
to creating the life you want. Make the following
Now you can begin to plan your year 2007:
- Actions I regret, the Action I will take to
clear it, and By When
- Communications I failed to deliver, To Whom,
What I need to communicate to feel complete, Whether
I am willing to do so, and By When.
Make a list of Everything I Want in 2007. Leave
nothing out. This is a moment when it is perfectly
okay to be selfish, greedy, and hungry for more.
Enjoy this process! Be generous with yourself.
Allow yourself to dream, and to have all of your
Next, decide which of your Wants will become your 3
Major Goals for 2007. Make sure that these
three Goals are aligned with your values, that you
really want them
(the ideas aren't coming from someone or somewhere
else), and that they wil have a positive impact on
both your life and the lives of others.
For each Goal, list the Resources I Need to
accomplish it (people, money, education,
information, technology, etc.) and the Actions I
Must Take to achieve your Goal. List the
Support Structures Needed to make it happen
(including practices you need to engage in), and the
Requests of Others you will make to get that
Finally, take out a calendar for 2007 and decide the
date by which you will accomplish your goal.
"I accomplished (the Goal)!" on that date. Also
schedule a Celebration that will honor your
accomplishment - with a party, champagne, a
shopping spree, or a special dinner. Use these
dates to work backwards in time, planning the steps
you need to take in order to accomplish your goal.
If you would like a guidebook that takes you through
this process step-by-step, email me with "2007" in the
subject line and I will send a copy to you. If you
want to learn how to accomplish any goal and remove
the obstacles that get in your way, sign up for our
Manifestation Throught The Chakras workshop. This
is powerful technology! It is "The Secret" to
making your dreams come true.
I congratulate you for taking these steps, telling
the truth, and creating the life you want to live.
Free one-hour coaching session in January
I am offering a free one-hour coaching session (by
phone) to readers of Everyday Awakening, valued at
$175. My hope is that you will get so much out of
the session that you wil sign up for a series of
coaching sessions, but of course, there is no
Bring the most difficult problem you face in your
life and see
how much traction we can get in only one hour. This
is a gift from my heart to your heart. Call me to
schedule the session by January 30th at
415-472-6500. I look forward to speaking with you
and helping you move forward toward your dreams.
We just passed the Winter Solstice on December 21st,
the darkest time of the year, with the shortest day
and the longest
night. From this point forward, the days will
become longer and warmer as we head to the other
side of this seasonal pendulum. It is the perfect
time to bring your desires into the world and
manifest your dreams. Successful executives and
businesspeople know that every hour spent planning
pays off ten-to-one, but most of us forget to apply
this technology to our personal lives.
As a coach, it is my job to inspire you, cajole you,
and convince you that you can accomplish any goal
and create a dream-come-true life. I point to the
tools you'll need, provide a few instructions or
recommend practices that will get you there, tickle
your ribs and remind you that many have gone before
you on this path and there is absolutely no evidence
to support the proposition that life is serious.
I send my thanks and appreciation to you, dear
readers and friends. I hope I have entertained and
enlightened you, or at least brightened your day and
given you something to think about. Let me know
whether I have succeeded.
Stay in touch, and let me know how you are doing in
your precious one-and-only life.
With Warmth and Joy,
